As we move past the heat of the summer into the colorful fall, I want to take a moment to update you on the campaign.
Crissy and I have had a great time on the trail – we’ve visited 60 counties so far – and everywhere we go people are excited about the opportunity to bring responsible conservative leadership to Nashville.
Our campaign had more great stops this summer than you probably have time to read about, so I’ll highlight just a few:
1. We met lots of new friends at the Veterans Museum in Halls, Tennessee, where more than 50 people turned out to talk about the issues that matter the most – jobs, education, and smaller, effective government.
2. Crissy and I really enjoyed our breakfast at the Boxwood Bistro in Franklin where 70 grassroots activists and elected officials turned out at 7:30am. That’s dedication!
3. Sammy Arnold has been a huge help, and he pulled together a fantastic group for a meet & greet at the Honey Baked Ham after we campaigned door to door in Jackson.
4. In Winchester, we met 90 new friends at Arezzo’s thanks to a lot of grassroots help.
5. We were able to join small business leaders in Maryville for a roundtable discussion on job retention and recruitment. Small businesses are the backbone of our economy.
These are just a few highlights from over the summer. Crissy and I are very grateful for the help and support we’ve received across the state. Friends new and old have very graciously offered their homes and neighborhoods to help our campaign, and we couldn’t do this without them. Or you.
Your friend,
Bill Haslam
